The Braddock Eagle Library Blog
Welcome to the Braddock Elementary School Library. Our library mission is to connect students to the amazing world of literature and to guide students to become informed and responsible users of information.
Visit Us in the Library!
Students from Kindergarten through 5th grade have regular weekly library time. The library is also open to students and classes for extended library periods connected to read and research. All students are welcome to visit the library to borrow materials at any time at their teacher's discretion. The library staff encourages students to have books to read at all times and parents might wish to borrow materials for read-a-louds.
Parent volunteers are always welcome in the library! We circulate thousands of books each month, so help with shelving is especially appreciated. For more information contact librarian Noel Foley at 703-914-7343, or at NMFoley@fcps.edu.
Books may be checked out for two weeks at a time.
- Kindergarten- 2 books
- Grade 1- 3 books
- Grade 2- 5 books
- Grade 3 - 6 books
- Grade 4 and Grade 5 - unlimited checkout
Overdue notices go out end of each quarter to teachers. Students are responsible for any notices they receive. If a student believes they have received a notice in error, it is the student’s responsibility to notify the library of the dispute. Disputes are resolved on a case by case basis. Additional library materials may not be checked out while there are overdue items on an account.
Materials need to be returned or renewed by the due date. Materials can be returned to the checkout desk slot in the library.
