Braddock Elementary School serves students in grades Pre-K-5. Known for its diverse student body and strong academic programs, the school emphasizes both academic excellence and personal growth. Our BES Operating Principles:

1. We believe in creating a safe, loving, and encouraging environment that cultivates mutual honesty, respect, and love of learning for students and the adults in the building.

2. We believe all children can learn and improve their academic skills; therefore, we instill high expectations and the belief that students can be and do anything they dream.

Title I School

Braddock Elementary School receives Title I funding to support smaller class sizes. Students benefit from personalized attention in classes with a maximum of 22 students in grades K-3 and 25 students in grades 4-5.

Robust Instructional Support

Braddock Elementary School has a robust Instructional Resource Team (i.e., Instructional Coach, Reading Resource Teachers, Math Resource Teachers, Bridge to Literacy & ESOL Teachers) to support students in reaching their academic potential. 

Our staff embodies the practice of being life-long learners and regularly participates in professional development to improve their instructional practices that yields student improvement, both academically, socially, and wellness.

 

 

Language Learning Opportunities

Braddock Elementary School is proud to have approximately 79% of our student population being Multilingual Learners. 

  • Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program: Students in grades K-5 have the opportunity to learn Spanish and English simultaneously in a bilingual program.
  • Foreign Language in Elementary School (FLES) Program: Students in grades K-5 have the opportunity to learn Spanish literacy.

 Our Multilingual Learners are prepared for continued success in and out of the classroom.

We have a strong family engagement model that highlights our commitment to fostering strong partnerships between school and home. Our dedicated teachers provide valuable training to equip families with the tools and strategies to support their children's academic and social growth.

Additionally, our PTA organizes a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities that bring families together, creating a vibrant and supportive community.

Before & After School Programs

Braddock Elementary School students have the opportunity to participate in either before and/or after school clubs/programs (i.e., reading and math intervention, Math Olympiad, Science Olympiad, Engineering, Coding, Robotics, Music, the Arts, Chess Club, and so much more) to further nurture the talents of our diverse learners.

 

 

Advanced Academic Full-Time Local Level IV Program

Braddock Elementary School is proud to offer a robust Advanced Academic Full-Time Level IV Program that challenges and supports high-ability students. Our program provides four levels of support, catering to students in grades K-5, ranging from integrated access to rigor in all classrooms to specialized full-time advanced academic classes in grades 3-5.

We employ a holistic approach to identify eligible students, considering a wide range of factors such as rating scales, ability testing, and academic performance.  

Portrait of a Graduate (POG) & AVID  Student Program

Braddock Elementary School is committed to helping students reach their full potential. Through the Advancement Via Individual Determination-- AVID program, we teach important skills like writing, reading, thinking critically, working together, and staying organized. These skills help students succeed in school and beyond.

AVID uses fun activities like writing, discussion, and teamwork to help students learn. Additionally, our teachers incorporate Portrait of a Graduate skills (i.e., Communicator, Critical & Creative Thinker, Collaborator, Goal-Directed & Resilient Individual, and Ethical & Global Citizen).
