Katilee Shanahan
Miss Kati Lee Gates has been in education for over 20 years and has been a part of the Fairfax County Public Schools system for 3 years. She brings a wealth of experience and has been a substitute teacher in preschool through fifth grade, as well as taught full-time in a variety of grades such as kindergarten, first grade, and birth to 5. She has been a part of the Braddock Family for the past 3 years. In her role as a kindergarten teacher, she understands the uniqueness of each child and believes in honoring the needs of all students as individuals while still maintaining high expectations for all. Miss Gates is excited to work with the dedicated staff, students, and families, of Braddock Elementary School.
Miss Gates holds a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Virginia University in Social Science, and Humanities, and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Phoenix. Miss Gates was born in Alaska, and currently resides in Alexandria, Va. She loves to travel, read, and bake.
