Congratulations to Principal Keesha Jackson-Muir who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2018 Outstanding Principal!

a photo of keesha jackson-muirKeesha is a focused leader who knows everyone in the Braddock Elementary community by name and need. Her emphasis on life-long learning inspires teachers to push limits. Extra resources support experiences like coding starting in pre-K and a Global STEAM partnership with a school in Guatemala. An advocate for the school’s diversity (students come from 29 countries and speak 32 languages), Keesha expanded minority participation in the Advanced Academic Program. She also implemented 2-way immersion in K-5 to increase student literacy in their home language and improve English skills. “Under her guidance,” says a partner, “Braddock Elementary does not back down from a challenge.”

Congratulations also to the other Braddock Elementary School staff members recognized at the event.
