Hello!  My name is Laura Miller and I am excited to be a General Music Specialist and the 5^th Grade Choral Director at Braddock Elementary School. As a former graduate of FCPS, I am in my ninth year of teaching and my fifth year as a Braddock Eagle! I am a proud graduate of Christopher Newport University, having earned my Master of Arts in Teaching (2012) and my Bachelor of Music in General/Instrumental Education (2011). This past year I celebrated my sixth year of marriage to an amazing man and talented pianist that shares my love of teaching. Although we currently do not have any children of our own, I consider every one of my students as though they were my children and work to establish mutual respect and kindness into our BES music family. I am most likely to be seen outside gardening or hiking as well as enjoying quality time with my family and pets curled up with a good book or cross-stitching. In addition to my music classroom, I enjoy teaching a private music studio of 10+ piano and trumpet students of all ages. I am an enthusiastic life-long learner and look forward to providing creative opportunities for your children to express themselves through singing, dancing, and playing to continue to grow into joyful young musicians and partners of their own education.
